Movie Synopsys:

Kragujevac. The first day of occupation: the first innocent victims. Thousands of workers refuse to work for the enemy. Punishment is cruel, forced labour, stopped food rations, raids.

Children become the food providers for their families. Little Piljak, a leader of group of boys gets a wonderful idea: he knows that the boots of the enemy soldiers must always be spotless, so on all the busy corners of the town, and chiefly near barracks, young shoe-shine boys turn up.

Numerous boots appear on the improvised shoe-shine boxes. In one of the battles with partisans, scores of enemy soldiers die. The order is curt: for every dead soldier, shoot 100 citizens.

The boots of the enemy officers and soldiers were never as dirty as on that day. Piljak shoe-shine boys refuse to clean the boots. They take them away too.
